1Market hosts proprietary trading technology alongside access to MT5 and Trading Central
The broker is regulated by the CySEC for EU traders
The firm has plans to launch a social trading app

Company Details

1Market was established in 2021. It offers multi-asset trading from headquarters located in Cyprus and the Marshall Islands. Available asset classes include forex, commodities, stocks, indices and futures contracts.

The broker aims to make trading accessible to all retail investors through bespoke technology and third-party software. This includes the 1nsights tool, which provides community trading trends and insights.

For day traders in the EU, the entity is regulated by the Cyprus Securities and Exchange Commission (CySEC). Similar to the UK’s FCA or the US SEC, the regulatory body is renowned for its efforts to safeguard consumers and ensure a fair trading environment.

Trading Platforms

1Market offers two trading platforms; a proprietary WebTrader and MetaTrader 5.

The broker’s bespoke platform is only available as a WebTrader, though it is compatible with various browsers, including Safari, Firefox, Google Chrome, Explorer, and Opera. All you need is a stable internet connection to get started.

MT5 can also be used as a web-based platform, plus it can be downloaded to Windows and Mac desktop devices.

How To Use The Platform

The MT5 platform is pretty simple to use, though it does take some time to get used to where all the functions are found. Fortunately, there is a handy toolbar that runs along the second row from the top for all the frequently used commands. You can hover over the icons for an action definition.

You can use technical analysis features like indicators by clicking on ‘Insert’ and then ‘Indicators’. You can use the categories at the bottom of the list to find the most suitable tool for your strategy.

Our experts would recommend spending some time in the demo mode before investing real cash.

Unfortunately there is no cryptocurrency trading.

1Market Fees

Trading fees at 1Market are in line with the industry average. The Classic and Premium account types offer commission-free trading with floating spreads. The Zero Spread account offers tighter spreads from 0 pips, however, a maximum commission of $7 per round lot turn applies. This varies by asset class.

When we used 1Market, we were offered the following spreads:

Forex (Classic Account) – EUR/USD 1.8 pips, USD/JPY 1.8 pips, and EUR/GBP 1.95 pips
Forex (Premium Account) – EUR/USD 1.2 pips, USD/JPY 1.2 pips, and EUR/GBP 1.3 pips
Forex (Zero Spread Account) – EUR/USD 0.2 pips, USD/JPY 0.2 pips, and EUR/GBP 1.3 pips + a $7 commission

Zero Spread Account Commission Fees (Per Lot)

Forex – $7
Commodities – $7
Cryptocurrency – 0.5%
Indices – $1
ETFs – $0.1 per ETF (minimum $0.05)
Stocks – $0.1 per stock (minimum $0.05)

Note, fees also apply for positions held overnight.

Leverage

Day traders registered with the global entity benefit from generous leverage up to 1:500. Major currency pairs including GBP/USD, USD/CAD, and USD/JPY, are available with 1:500 leverage. Minor currency pairs have leverage of 1:200, indices of 1:50, and stocks up to 1:20.

EU traders are limited to 1:30 leverage in line with CySEC requirements.

The margin call is 75% and a stop-out level of 50%.

Mobile App Review

Unfortunately the 1Market WebTrader platform is not available as a mobile app. There is currently no download option for iOS or Android (APK) devices, however, the web terminal can be used on mobiles through an internet browser.

When we tested the platform on an iPhone, the usability was ok, though it was tricky to navigate on a smaller screen and it was a little slow to load and run.

MetaTrader 5 has mobile compatibility with Android devices. Users can access all the features of the desktop platform on the mobile app. Note, MT5 is currently unavailable to download from the Apple App store.

A copy trading mobile application is also due to launch soon, named 1Market Social. This could be a major draw for beginners, in particular.

Payment Methods

Deposits

The initial minimum deposit at 1Market is high vs competitors such as XM ($5) and OANDA. The Classic Account has a minimum deposit of $450 or equivalent currency.

Payment methods include:

E-Wallets
Bank Wire Transfers
Credit/Debit/Prepaid Card

E-wallets and cards often provide the quickest processing times within one working day. Bank wire transfers can take up to five working days for funds to clear.

1Market does not charge any deposit fees but look out for third-party bank charges.

How To Make A Deposit

Log in to the client dashboard with your registered credentials
Select ‘User Account’ from the menu on the left-hand side
Click on the ‘Deposit’ icon highlighted in blue
Enter the deposit value
Choose a payment method
Complete payment details in the window on the right-hand side
Select ‘Next’ to confirm

Withdrawals

Withdrawals must be processed back to the same method as deposits, which is a downside vs some competitors.

1Market processes all fund requests within three working days though the time taken for money to clear will vary between methods. The broker does not charge any withdrawal fees.

Note, KYC documentation must be approved before a withdrawal request can be made.

1Market Demo Account

The 1Market demo account is accessible on the MetaTrader 5 terminal only. Day traders can practice trading risk-free with an uncapped time limit and $100,000 in virtual funds.

Our experts were disappointed that the proprietary platform is not available in the demo trading environment. Having said that, you can still explore many of the features available with a live profile such as 1sight crowd insights and an economic calendar.

How To Open A Demo Account

From the broker’s homepage, select the ‘Register’ logo
Complete the online registration form
Log in to the client portal
Select the ‘Trading Profile’ icon found at the top of the menu on the left-hand side
Click on ‘My Trading Platform’ and then ‘Start MetaTrader 5 Platform’
In the MT5 platform, click the ‘Demo’ icon in the pop-out window
Add your name and email, tick the terms & conditions, and press ‘Next’
Click ‘Complete’

Bonuses & Promotions

Our experts were not offered any bonus rewards or financial incentives when registering for a live 1Market account, including a no deposit welcome bonus. This is common practice among brokers regulated by the CySEC and is because of the risks involved with volume-based investment incentives that encourage unsustainable trading patterns.

1Market does run a refer-a-friend program available to retail investors with a live account. Customers can choose between two rewards; earn from your referrals’ deposits or earn from their trades. Note, once this has been selected within the client terminal it cannot be changed.

Earn From Trades – Earn 10% of the referral’s spreads (during the first three months)
Earn From Deposits – Earn 10% of the referral’s deposits (during the first three months)

Regulation & License

1Market.com is the trade name of Podora Limited, registered in the Marshall Islands, company number 107838.

The firm is a member of the Investor Compensation Fund (ICF), which covers EU retail investors with up to €20,000 in compensation in the case of business failure.

1Market also maintains segregated accounts. In addition, the 1Market platform has negative balance protection, meaning traders will not incur a negative account balance.

1Market Live Accounts

1Market offers retail investors the choice of three account types; Classic, Premium, and Zero Spread.

Additional Features

1Market stands out for its good selection of extra trading tools, which can enhance the user experience and benefit new traders, in particular.

1nsight

The 1nsight live feed is the broker’s proprietary technology. It provides an overview of trends using summaries of trader activity and market action as a result of economic publications or company earnings releases, for example. The real-time information is published to the full community of 1Market traders and displayed along the side of the platform.

The tool is made up of two parts:

1night Feed – A live stream data view indicating any spike in the volume and volatility of an instrument, false breakout suggestions, and new trend formations
Trading Gauge – Community reactions to market events and price swings. This section summarizes breakouts as a result of economic releases or political events. The information is available alongside each asset, highlighting how current trends have strayed from the norm

Trading Central

1Market day traders also have access to Trading Central, a one-stop solution for investment research.

The third-party tool uses fundamental and technical data alongside the expertise of financial analysts to provide trading signals. These can be used to identify profitable entry & exit points, create trade scenarios using support and resistance levels, and confirm a strategy using indicators such as MACD and RSI.

Trading Central is available to day traders who invest a minimum of $1000.

Education And 1Sheild

The educational resources offered by 1Market are pretty basic. It consists of a forex trading glossary and integrated videos introducing traders to the concept of CFD trading. Experienced traders will find this section lacking.

1Sheild is a user guide teaching day traders the concepts of self-discipline, protecting personal capital, and managing risk. This is pretty standard information for experienced investors, though it may provide some useful tips for beginners.

News

The broker has some outdated daily market news reports and financial news. It would be good to see these refreshed with the latest information to aid investment decisions.

Opening Hours

The 1Market trading platform is available 24/7, though this varies between instruments. For example, currency pairs can be traded from 22:00 Sunday to 21:00 Friday. Cryptocurrency, on the other hand, is available from 00:00 Sunday to 23:59 Saturday while ETFs can be traded from 14:31 Monday to 20:59 Friday.

A schedule of public holiday dates and market closures is published on the broker’s website.

Customer Support

1Market customer service is available 24/5 in 11 languages, which is impressive vs alternative brokers.

Contact methods include email (support@1market.com), phone (+447723861200), and live chat. However, we tested the live chat several times and were provided with an error message. It is also disappointing that there is no centralized FAQ page for quick support.

On a more positive note, our experts were impressed with the remote server customer support. Retail investors facing technical difficulties can allow a customer service agent remote connection to their PC device to view/solve the problem in real-time.

Security & Safety

Although there are some concerns surrounding the broker’s unregulated status for global investors, the firm provides secure trading conditions. All personal information is safeguarded with advanced encryption. Transactions are processed with SSL technology.

There are also plenty of downloadable guides and articles on how to protect your funds, manage trading emotions, and why applying risk management parameters is important.

1Market Verdict

As a relatively new broker, 1Market still has some work to do. The lack of a proprietary mobile app alongside a high minimum deposit is a disadvantage and will pull down its rating in user reviews.

With that said, we do recognize the brand for its integrated technology, including the proprietary insights tool and access to Trading Central investment research. In addition, the broker has plans to introduce a social trading service.

Accepted Countries

1Market accepts traders from Australia, Thailand, Canada, United Kingdom, South Africa, Singapore, Hong Kong, India, France, Germany, Norway, Sweden, Italy, Denmark, United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Luxembourg, Qatar and most other countries.

Traders can not use 1Market from United States, Albania, Afghanistan, Bahamas, Barbados, Belgium, Botswana, Cambodia, Korea, Ghana, Iraq, Iran, Jamaica, Mauritius, Mongolia, Myanmar, Nicaragua, Pakistan, Panama, Syria, Trinidad And Tobago, Uganda, Vanuatu, Yemen, Zimbabwe.
