TitanFX is an online broker that has been operating since 2014, and offers forex and CFDs in an ECN or STP environment that provides traders with competitive costs and leveraged trading as great as 500:1. The broker is fully regulated by the Vanuatu Financial Services Commission (VFSC), and has a network of global offices located in Vanuatu, India, London, and the U.S. Clients can take advantage of the award-winning MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 platforms while trading a variety of assets that include forex, precious metals, indices, and energies. Given the fairly long history of the broker they are obviously doing something right, and that deserves a closer look at the details of the brokers programs.

Broker Regulation

As mentioned in the introduction TitanFX is fully regulated by the Vanuatu Financial Services Commission under license number 40313. While this is an offshore location, having regulation indicates that the broker is interested in providing a secure and responsible trading environment for their clients. It is also reasonable to expect increased security when it comes to trading capital, although it is unfortunate that the VFSC does not require any specific compensation scheme to protect against client losses.

Account types

There are two primary account types offered by TitanFX, plus a corporate account and a demo account. The two account types are distinguished by the processing and fee structures. The first is the Zero Standard account that features institutional level STP technology to provide interbank spreads. There are no commissions with the Zero Standard account, and spreads begin as low as 1 pip.

The other account type is the Zero Blade account, which is an ECN account that offers spreads as low as 0 pips, but offsets that with a small commission on each trade. With such low spreads the Zero Blade account is ideal for EA traders, scalpers, and even day traders. Otherwise, the accounts share the same trade sizes, leverage caps, and minimum deposit requirements.

Trading Platforms

TitanFX has the MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5 platforms available to their clients. Both these award-winning platforms are well known in the forex and CFD communities as potentially the best there is when trading on the markets. Both MT4 and MT5 are available for download for Windows PCs, Mac OS, and Android and iOS devices. In addition, MT4 can be accessed as a WebTrader. Both MT4 and MT5 come with a large feature set, including live quotes, real-time charts, in-depth news, multiple order types, analysis tools, secure trading, and more.

TitanFX Trading Platforms

MT4 is the original platform and was designed to be the best available for forex trading. MT5 was released later and is intended as an upgrade that is designed more specifically for CFD trading. MT5 has all the same features as MT4, but in many cases these are enhanced or extended. The EA strategy tester is improved, there are more analysis tools, and the number of order types has been increased.

Available Assets

The broker offers CFD trading in precious metals, energies, and indices as well as forex trading. Just recently they have added stocks to the list of available assets too. Over 170 different assets are available, including more than 70 different forex pairs. The forex offerings are the strongest here, and traders can choose from majors, minors, and exotics. Stocks are also well represented, with 65 individual CFDs on shares. In addition, gold, silver, palladium, and platinum are available, as are several oil contracts. Added to this are 21 of the top global indices. The broker does not offer any cryptocurrencies.

Education and Research

Traders can get detailed news reports that are focused on market insights and research, however there is not much in the way of educational resources available on the website. One of the most popular resources is the demo accounts, which do provide education, but it is more user-driven. There is also a ‘Forex Basics’ section on the website that will help beginning traders get started with the currency markets.

On a more positive note, the broker has a solid offering of research tools, including Market Analysis, Forex Monthly articles, and Economic News. VPS is also available for lease from the website for those who use EAs.

Customer Service

Like so many forex and CFD brokers these days TitanFX has customer service agents standing by 24/5. That means it is not possible to get support over the weekend. While that is fine for market related issues, there could be other questions or concerns where it would be helpful to be able to contact support over the weekend.

There is an FAQ section on the broker website that might answer your more common questions, which is helpful. Otherwise, support can be reached via online chat, email, and telephone Monday through Friday.

TitanFX Customer Service

A test of their live chat feature went quite well. We were immediately connected to an agent, and they were both quick and helpful, answering our questions efficiently and professionally. It was an excellent customer service experience.

In Conclusion

TitanFX seems to be a decent broker, with excellent trading conditions and high leverage available. They are also regulated, which is good. It is also good to have a choice between MetaTrader 4 and MetaTrader 5. Plus, the 2 account types make it easier to decide whether you would like to go with commissions or spreads when trading.

It would be nice to see the assets on offer expanded somewhat, especially in terms of cryptocurrencies, which are not available at all. On the other hand, it is promising that TitanFX have recently expanded into offering CFDs on shares.

Interestingly we did not see any bonuses or promotions, and we were also a bit disappointed by the lack of educational materials.

One bright spot was the customer service experience, which we found to be excellent.

Overall, the experience at TitanFX does seem to be good, and there are likely some traders out there who would thrive with this broker.
