The Consumer Sentiment Index in the US improved modestly to 85.5 (final) in June from 82.9 in May, the University of Michigan's latest Surveys of Consumers showed on Friday. This reading came in weaker than the previous estimate and market expectation of 86.4.
Further details of the publication revealed that the Current Economic Conditions Index edged lower to 88.6 from 89.4 and the Consumer Expectations Index rose to 83.5 from 78.8.
Market reaction
This report doesn't seem to be having a significant impact on the greenback's performance against its rivals. As of writing, the US Dollar Index was down 0.28% on the day at 91.55.
